Analysis of Inactive Gene Clusters - Leading to Discovery of New Natural Products from Strains of Genus Microcystis

Cyanobactins are cylcic peptides assembled through the clevage and modification of short precoursor proteins, here we report the discovery of active counterparts in strains of Genus microcystis guided by the dormant cyanobactin-gene cluster.
