The timing for this SIG is especially important. Social work is increasingly being called upon to address complex, interconnected social problems that require intervention across multiple ecological levels, from individuals and families to organizations, communities, and policy systems. Yet there is currently no dedicated space within SSWR for scholars engaged in multi-level intervention development, testing, and implementation to build methodological coherence, mentorship, and collaboration. SSWR is uniquely positioned to convene this work because of its leadership in advancing rigorous, practice-relevant social work research. Establishing this SIG now would strengthen the society’s role in shaping the future of intervention science and translational scholarship.
