A public health social work approach emphasizes multilevel prevention before clinical social work intervention is needed. This session shows how technology can advance community-engaged social work practice and research via Rosie, an AI‑powered chatbot embedded in a health education app, developed and evaluated in a series of federally funded studies. Thus, in this symposium, we will give four presentations directly aligned to the 2027 SSWR conference theme of Social Work Research at the Service of Democracy: Advancing Rigorous Inquiry for the Common Good. First, we will open the session with 12 month follow-up results of a randomized controlled trial of Rosie developed with and for pregnant and new mothers of color. Second, we will present results of a pilot randomized controlled trial of a Spanish-language version of Rosie with Spanish speaking Latina mothers. Then, we will present two papers on our adaptation work of Rosie for fathers of color as well as parents who use substances and mothers with ADHD. The session will conclude with a moderated question and answer series on how to meet the needs of expectant and new parents through digital intervention that is complementary to, never in replacement of, clinical social work care during this sensitive period.
