Session Proposal: Advancement in Watershed Modeling: Agricultural Systems, Erosion Control and Nutrient Balances (AGU25)

H003
Advancement in Watershed Modeling: Agricultural Systems, Erosion Control and Nutrient Balances

Session ID#: 246682

Session Description:
Field and watershed-scale models/tools have been continuously improving alongside the availability of new data to alleviate the increasing environmental concerns and the potential impacts to human society around the world. On the other hand, it is almost impossible to solve challenging tasks without considering cross-surface, cross-scale, or cross-spatial interactions, especially under the threat of changing conditions along with local/international regulations, agencies, authorities. In addition, compromises are made during the modeling processes, where food production, energy consumption, and the corresponding essential cycling processes should be considered cooperatively. It highlights the importance of model coupling/integration platform with supplementary constraints. Since 2016, this modeling session has been providing a platform for broad discussions among international scientists from different disciplines. We hope that mutual efforts in this session can advocate for advanced insights for future investigation on both modeling development and the associated management strategies
