Session Proposal: From Data to Discovery: Infrastructure Driving Earth Science (AGU25)

IN024
From Data to Discovery: Infrastructure Driving Earth Science

Session ID#: 252362

Session Description:
The field of Earth science is experiencing a significant transformation, driven by advancements in computational capabilities, cloud technologies, open data initiatives, and collaborative resources. This session aims to examine the essential function of infrastructure including satellites, in situ sensors, data lakes, APIs, and AI-compatible workflows in facilitating innovative scientific research. We welcome submissions that highlight interoperable, scalable, and sustainable infrastructures that enable next-generation studies, near real-time monitoring, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Special attention will be given to implementations that adhere to FAIR data principles, utilize cloud-native frameworks, and incorporate open-source solutions. This session will bring together researchers, technologists, and data stewards to share innovative strategies that connect raw data with actionable insights. We invite participation in exploring how digital infrastructure is reshaping our methodologies for observing, understanding, and addressing changes in Earth systems.
