Volcanic risk and hazards, geo-disasters, and their impacts on climate change are growing concerns in recent years. To mitigate impacts of volcanic hazards, geo-disasters, marine hazards, and rehabilitation, scientific knowledge is needed, requiring experienced research communities. This session deals with volcanic risk assessment and hazards monitoring. The session also signifies that the role of information science and communication, digital science and social-media are crucial in communicating the volcanic risk and hazard monitoring. The session invites case studies of volcanic risk assessment and management, lessons learned in the past.The session focuses on studies related to volcano monitoring, field data to assess the volcanic risk and hazards, early warning to mitigate the impacts. The session aims at sharing lessons learned in the past, experience, and knowledge through networking and collaboration of multidisciplinary aspects of volcanic risk and hazard monitoring, including physical and social scientists, information and engineering specialists, and data scientists.
