Multisector Dynamics: Science and Modeling Advances for Complex Adaptive Human-Earth Systems

Session Description:
This session supports the continued development of the MultiSector Dynamics community-of-practice (MSD CoP), which is focused on advancing our understanding of the co-evolution of complex adaptive human-Earth systems. The MSD CoP is focused on developing the next generation of science and modeling tools for better navigating interdependent risks across sectors (e.g., energy, water, land, economy, etc.) and scales (spatial, temporal, and institutional). Transdisciplinary and multisectoral perspectives are needed to better understand how investments over the next decade shape risks and opportunities longer term. Achieving robust and successful outcomes will require innovations in adaptive planning and investment strategies that effectively balance objectives across sectors while navigating interdependent risks. This session broadly invites submissions addressing these challenges and contributing promising new modeling tools.
