Next‑Generation Remote Sensing and Geospatial Methods for Environmental Geoscience Applications

Session Description:
This session invites contributions that advance environmental geosciences research through emerging remote‑sensing technologies and geospatial analytical innovations. High‑resolution satellite imagery, LiDAR, InSAR, hyperspectral sensing, and radar missions are transforming our ability to observe, quantify, and model surface and subsurface environmental processes. We  invite submission of novel research that leverage these datasets, combined with geospatial analytics, spatial modeling, machine learning, and data‑fusion techniques, to address challenges in ecosystem monitoring, ground and surface water, vadose‑zone characterization, land‑use land-cover change, natural hazards, and climate‑driven environmental change. We particularly welcome interdisciplinary work that integrates field observations, remote sensing, and computational methods to improve environmental prediction and decision‑support systems. This session aims to bring together researchers from hydrology, geodesy, geospatial analytics, cryosphere, ecology, and environmental data science to highlight cutting‑edge applications of remote sensing and geospatial methods and foster new collaborations across AGU’s diverse scientific communities.
