The Ice Giants: Exploring the Planetary Systems of Uranus and Neptune

Session Description:
The Uranus and Neptune systems are high-priority targets for future space missions that present exciting opportunities for new discoveries. We solicit interdisciplinary topics covering all aspects of ice giant systems, including their formation, evolution, planetary/satellite interior structures, subsurface oceans, surface geology (including possible cryovolcanoes on Triton), atmospheres, aeronomy, aurorae, ionospheres, rings, magnetospheres, and solar wind interactions. We welcome presentations that advance our understanding of the Ice Giant systems from a range of perspectives including observations, modeling, theory, and laboratory work. With a Uranus Orbiter and Probe ranked as the highest-priority new Flagship mission by the latest Planetary Decadal Survey, we welcome studies in preparation for future remote sensing and in situ explorations, including mission concepts, instrument design studies, potential for international collaborations and recent workshop outcomes. We also encourage comparative studies between the Uranus/Neptune systems and other planetary bodies within our solar system and beyond.
