Enhancing Risk Analyses for Resilience: New NASA RASI Products and Stakeholder Engagement

Session ID#: 280739

Session Description:
This session will be hosted by the NASA Risk Analysis and Solutions Innovators (RASI) Team. RASI provides up-to-date scientific research to state and local stakeholders to respond to increasing risks in timely and effective ways. The RASI team is comprised of NASA scientists who create risk information and share with stakeholders internal and external to NASA to increase resilience for infrastructure and other sectors. RASI empowers state and local governments, including local governments in the Hampton Roads region, to enhance decision support that increases resilience. RASI is comprised of 6 Workgroups each focused on a specific area of risk: Extreme Weather Events, Flooding Events, Wildfires and Air Quality, Water Resources, and Energy Infrastructure. The HydroSCS Workgroup is developing a new all-NASA forcing dataset that will be integrated in an improved version of NEX GDDP. RASI Workgroup products include extreme heat, droughts and floods, fire weather, and cooling degree days.
