Participatory Decision Support and Integrated Assessment for Climate Adaptation Under Compound Risks

Session Description:
This session focuses on how to evaluate climate adaptation more effectively under compound climate risks that span ecosystems, infrastructure, and society. It calls for integrated assessment approaches that move beyond sector-specific analysis and use multi-sectoral data—such as climate, water, agriculture, forestry, health, ecosystems, and socio-economic information—to understand cross-sectoral impacts, adaptation outcomes, and trade-offs or synergies across scales. The session also highlights the importance of participatory decision-support approaches, including stakeholder engagement, co-production of knowledge, and science-policy interfaces that improve transparency, trust, legitimacy, and equity in climate governance. Relevant topics include adaptation effectiveness, risk reduction, cost-effectiveness, co-benefits, participatory scenarios, stakeholder-informed tools, and applications in areas such as urban flooding, heat risk, water security, and biodiversity. Empirical, comparative, methodological, and governance-oriented studies from local to global scales are welcomed.
