Particle Acceleration at the Sun and in the Heliosphere

Session Description:
Energetic particles, including both charged and neutral particles, are an important topic in space plasma physics, encompassing solar physics, interplanetary physics and heliospheric physics. Despite significant progress, many aspects of particle acceleration remain poorly understood. Particle acceleration processes include magnetic reconnection, wave–particle interactions, collisionless shocks, etc.. In addition, charge exchange processes near the Sun can produce solar energetic neutral particles (solar ENAs), whose detection has attracted increasing attention in recent years. This session invites contributions based on space-borne and ground-based observations, as well as theoretical and modeling approaches, to advance our understanding of energetic particle acceleration at the Sun and in the heliosphere.
