Debris and Meteoroids in the Space Environment

Session Description:
Orbital debris, meteoroids, and dust are pervasive in the near-Earth space environment and endanger the safety of human and robotic operations in space.  This session solicits presentations about characterizing the small object population (<1 cm) near Earth.  This includes 1) measurements with in-situ instruments and remote sensing techniques (e.g., optical and radar); 2) modeling of interactions of small objects with the space plasma environment; and 3) scientific and societal utility of characterizing this population (e.g., dust science in the heliosphere or improving space weather forecasting).
