GGOS Contribution to Improving the Accuracy, Consistency and Availability of Essential Geodetic Products and Standards for the Earth and the Moon

Session Description:
The Global Geodetic Observing System (GGOS) of the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) works with other entities and IAG components to provide precise, consistent, and long-term observations of the Earth's shape, rotation, gravity field, and their temporal variations, considered the pillars of geodesy. Despite the difficulties and issues weakening the global geodesy supply chain at the instrumental and human levels, GGOS activity helps improve the accuracy, consistency, and availability of a wide variety of geodetic products and data on a FAIR basis as well as keeping up-to-date standards. We welcome contributions on general geodetic topics as well as on applications showing the scientific value of geodesy in well-established multidisciplinary specific contexts related to Earth monitoring or in new frontier problems such as those arising from quantum and optical geodesy, artificial intelligence, Genesis, or the development of Moon’s reference frames, a need driven by ongoing lunar missions.
