Interdisciplinary Geophysical Methods for Volcanic Systems: Observations, Imaging, and Modeling for Resource and Hazard Assessment

Session Description:
Geophysics is an increasingly powerful tool for understanding deep, near-surface, and surface processes of volcanic and related hydrothermal systems. As population increases, there is an ever-growing demand to use geophysical data to quantify volcanic hazard and locate sources of renewable energy and critical minerals. We welcome contributions that integrate both traditional and novel geophysical tools—including but not limited to remote sensing, InSAR, seismology, distributed acoustic sensing (DAS), magnetotellurics (MT) and other electrical methods—to solve practical questions surrounding active or dormant volcanic and hydrothermal systems.
