With intensified political scrutiny, the challenges have escalated in incorporating language and approaches related to broader impacts into successful proposals. Nevertheless, these activities remain essential to cultivating a strong workforce and advancing science with meaningful societal impact. Convened by a cross-sectional AGU working group, this session will bring together diverse perspectives from across AGU sections and career stages to examine practical strategies for the design and communication of broader impact activities that uphold the core values of inclusion, public engagement, and societal well-being. Presenters will share their experiences, followed by a panel discussion and an audience question-and-answer period. The session will conclude with interactive small-group discussions, providing participants with opportunities to exchange ideas, strengthen supportive networks, and contribute to the development of a collaboratively generated set of best practices to be disseminated through AGU platforms.
