Beyond Silos: Integrating Earth Sciences in the Water-Energy-Food-Health Nexus 2.0

Session ID#: 283035

Session Description:
Building on the momentum from last year’s session, this follow-up session focuses on recent advances and ongoing challenges in transdisciplinary research and collaboration. As global challenges such as climate change, population growth, urbanization, and resource scarcity intensify, integrated research approaches are more crucial than ever. The Water-Energy-Food-Health (WEF-H) Nexus offers a powerful framework for tackling these interconnected issues and advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Traditional research silos are no longer sufficient; a transdisciplinary approach is essential, uniting Earth sciences, biology, chemistry, engineering, public health, and policy. This session brings together academia and industry to share cutting-edge research and explore collaboration within the WEF-H framework. We invite abstract submissions that address critical challenges and innovative solutions across WEF-H sectors. Outcomes will include identifying research priorities, forming cross-disciplinary partnerships, and generating actionable recommendations to bridge science and policy in nexus governance.
