T43H:
The Complex Multiscale Earth: Holistic Modeling of the Crust and Upper Mantle Leveraging Multiple Data Sets to Robustly Constrain Structure and Dynamics I Posters

Session ID#: 50693
Session Description:
Geophysical imaging and geodynamic modelling constrain
key physical properties, i.e. temperature and composition. Petrology, geochemistry and mineral physics
provide in-situ properties of rocks needed for a holistic approach.
With the expansion and deployment of geophysical observing networks and satellite-based observations, numerous new lithospheric upper-mantle models based on combinations of these observables at regional to global scales are becoming available. Often, these models based on a limited subset may be incompatible with each other. Combining geophysical datasets with computational petrology and laboratory studies allows self-consistent imaging of the lithosphere and upper mantle structure as well as capturing its dynamic evolution. Furthermore, linking crustal and upper mantle models with geodynamic models at a global scale remains challenging.
We invite contributions focusing on crust upper-mantle properties and dynamic state from all relevant disciplines (seismology, electromagnetics, gravity, geodetics, petrology, geothermal, geodynamics, geodesy, etc.) across global to regional scales. We particularly encourage cross-disciplinary, integrative approaches.
