Long Range transport of Dust and Sand Storms and their Impacts
Long Range transport of Dust and Sand Storms and their Impacts
Session ID#: 78385
Session Description:
Dust and sand storms are common around the globe and effects are seen over many continents and impacts are observed on air quality, agriculture, human health, transportation and aviation services. Dust storms take path over the ocean impacting ocean ecology and also reach over the mountainous regions affecting the snow/glaciers in the Himalayan, Alps and Rocky regions.
This session invites oral and poster papers related to ground and satellite observations, dust modeling studies, forecast of dust storms, characteristics/variability of dust from source regions along the tracks, impacts on climate, monsoon, ecosystems, atmospheric composition, hydrological cycle, dust climate interaction and dust characteristics over different continents, North Africa, Middle East, Asia, Australia and US.
