Application Optimized Data Stores: Getting Data into the Pockets of Decision-makers and Citizen Scientists

Session ID#: 81959

Session Description:
The next revolution in earth data is getting earth insights into the hands and pockets of everyday decision-makers, from farmers to fishermen, to first responders, to city planners. This session will showcase the state of the art in building apps that provide rich earth insights by drawing on huge historic archives and near real-time data feeds. As more data moves to the cloud, we will discuss options for providing application optimized data stores that unlock the potential for earth analysis in the browser or native applications. The organizing committee and panelists will share lessons from organizing and building on data with NASA, USGS, ESA, and commercial satellite providers.
