Differences in Number of Tiny Things in Dry Lands Under Trees and Open Spaces

Abstract:

In dry lands that get low rain, trees grow with large open spaces in between them. It is expected that in coming years, air will become warmer and dry places will get even lower rain. These changes might lower number of trees and make more open land spaces without trees. If this happens, a change in number or types of tiny living things in the land will also take place. Since trees get their food with the help of tiny living things, their relationship will struggle to work. To understand how tiny living things help trees find food in dry places, I asked the following questions: Are the tiny living things found under the trees and open spaces the same? Which food forms are the tiny living things changing into simple food forms for trees? Do the tiny living things change the same hard food forms into simple food forms under trees and open spaces? My work seconded the work of others in that the areas under the trees had a high number of important food forms and the tiny living things were different under trees and open spaces. The different types or different number of tiny living things found in the dry place were different than other places (controlled by rain, hot/cold air, or different types of trees). My work also showed that the number of tiny living things that carry out an important job of changing a top food form to simple form for trees is different under trees and open spaces. The relationship between the number of tiny living things doing this job and the actual job was strong. In short, understanding the job of tiny living things is important to study if the warmer air will cause trees to die and make more open spaces in dry lands.
