Training Materials relevant to the Satellite Proving Ground

Abstract:

Data from new satellites have become common in the past 5 years with the launches of the Geostationary Himawari-8 and Himawari-9 (JMA), GOES-16 and GOES-17 (NOAA), GEOKOMPSAT-2A (KMA) (among others) and Polar Orbiters such as NOAA-20 and Metop-C. Efficient use of these new data sources requires timely and interactive training resources, and this talk will outline different training resources that have been developed at the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies. Some of these resources are text-only, many are blog posts, others are videos; how these training materials can be integrated into a training program, and how they help make learning stick, through repetition, will be the primary topics of this presentation.
