Near-Sun Parker Solar Probe Observations of the Young Solar Wind

Session ID#: 120964

Session Description:
By the time of the 2021 AGU Fall Meeting, Parker Solar Probe will have completed 9 orbits and come closer than 15 Rsun to the Sun’s surface. The measurements made during these most recent passes offer unprecedented observations of the innermost heliosphere and coronal structures. Previous observations have revealed the highly structured and dynamic nature of the young solar wind, and have offered clues as to the formation and evolution of solar wind structures commonly seen at 1 AU. This session will feature observations of the properties and structures of the very young solar wind, including waves, streams, discontinuities, and ICMEs.
