Best Practices and Realities of Research Data Repositories
Best Practices and Realities of Research Data Repositories
Session ID#: 123083
Session Description:
As data volumes continue to increase, so has the demand for sustainable Earth and environmental research data repositories. Efforts such as the FAIR, CARE and TRUST Principles, the CoreTrustSeal Certification and the Enabling FAIR Data Commitment Statement, combined with ever-growing demand for machine accessibility to data, have raised new user expectations towards the capabilities of research data repositories. Can the repository they choose meet these benchmarks and future expectations? Do they have the appropriate strategies? Are they a recognised repository for data related to their publication?
This session seeks submissions from both research data repositories for Earth and environmental science data and their users. It will showcase the range of practices in research data repositories, data publication and the integration of data, software and samples into the scholarly publication process. The session also invites repositories to discuss the challenges they face in meeting these new demands and expectations for compliance.
