Data Mining for Science of the Middle Solar Corona
Data Mining for Science of the Middle Solar Corona
Session ID#: 123656
Session Description:
The middle solar corona comprises magnetic connectivity and physical transitions that drive activity throughout the heliosphere. Understanding this region requires knowledge of the physics that give rise to the dynamics in the inner corona and subsequent connectivity, through the middle and outer corona, to the heliosphere. However, the precise nature of this connectivity remains elusive. Understanding the Sun/Corona/Heliosphere as a single system requires the characterization of structures and plasma properties of the middle corona through the improved use of increasingly diverse data sets and a profusion of data analysis and processing techniques. During this session, we aim to discuss how the accessibility and interoperability of various observations and tools is essential to extract information available about the middle corona. We encourage submissions on current and/or future challenges for observations, analysis/processing tools, models and theory that aim to decipher the physics of the middle corona and its connection to the heliosphere.
