Innovative Wastewater Disposal Methods to Manage Contamination of Coastal Waters
Innovative Wastewater Disposal Methods to Manage Contamination of Coastal Waters
Session ID#: 124715
Session Description:
Many industrial processes, such as desalination, mining, etc., generate wastewater that ultimately finds its way into lakes, rivers or the ocean. It is easier and more economically favorable to discharge wastewater into waterbodies than to figure out ways of disposing it on land. However, if the disposal in water bodies is not managed properly, it can affect the ecosystem and also cause contamination of potential sources of drinking water. Therefore, innovative disposal methods are required to ensure that the water quality is not degraded due to the disposal. In addition, some novel disposal methods can also add to the recreational appeal of the site. This session is intended for presentations showing recent advancements in waste disposal methods. We invite submissions on laboratory, numerical modeling or field studies investigation novel wastewater disposal methods.
