Advancing Scientific Data Visualization With Emerging Ecosystems of Technology and Practice
Advancing Scientific Data Visualization With Emerging Ecosystems of Technology and Practice
Session ID#: 124898
Session Description:
As the collection and curation of science data continues to expand exponentially and without limit, the methods for handling this information are changing as well. Processing, storage and access mechanisms continue to transition to the cloud and with that paradigm shift, the ability to extract meaning from these data efficiently and meaningfully via visualization must be updated. This session seeks presentations of work focused on advancing science data visualization by leveraging emerging storage, access and processing infrastructures in combination with the latest visualization technologies, tools and techniques in order to take fuller advantage of the vast amount of science data available. Concepts of interest include integrated systems such as problem-solving environments and convergence analysis platforms, application of technologies such as immersive environments (VR/AR/MR) combined with machine learning, artificial intelligence or computer vision algorithms and any other visualization work that facilitates data interaction for the purpose of analysis, exploration and discovery.
