Advancing Science through Observations, Monitoring, and Experimentation in Catchment, Critical Zone, and Ecosystem Studies
Advancing Science through Observations, Monitoring, and Experimentation in Catchment, Critical Zone, and Ecosystem Studies
Session ID#: 121697
Session Description:
Catchment, critical zone, and ecosystem studies are foundational to hydrological, biogeochemical, and ecological process understanding. These studies and the associated monitoring provide context for detecting and understanding fundamental processes and consequences of environmental change on ecosystems. In this session, we seek contributions that: employ conventional approaches, novel techniques, or modeling; involve a range of temporal and spatial scales; or synthesize trends, patterns, and knowledge over sites, time, or space. We encourage contributions from catchment, critical zone, and observatory studies, particularly research that is crucial to scientific discovery, resource management, shaping policy, or promoting societal well-being.
