Advances in urban climate and biogeochemistry
Advances in urban climate and biogeochemistry
Session ID#: 160554
Session Description:
Urban climate is the climate experienced by a large fraction of humanity. The biogeochemistry of urban systems impacts both city residents and the regional to global climate system. Urban areas, for example, are among the largest greenhouse gas emission hotspots on the globe. We seek contributions focused on improving our understanding of urban climate and biogeochemistry, including measurement, modeling and synthesis studies. Contributions that illuminate the processes required to understand urban climate and biogeochemical environments at resolutions ranging from neighborhoods to metropolitan regions are welcome. Studies of the role of the built environment, anthropogenic and ecosystem in urban climate and biogeochemistry are welcome, as are studies that apply this understanding to inform urban planning, design and governance.
