Wrangling the World’s Air Quality Data

Session ID#: 160632

Session Description:
The nonprofit OpenAQ aligns disparate air-quality measurements from across the globe into a single, standardized open-source platform. This is the largest open-source air quality data platform in the world and provides unfettered access to billions of reference, research, low-cost, and mobile monitoring data, which allows for all sorts of uses at the local, regional and global scale. This session (and related poster) will describe (1) the data available on the OpenAQ platform and how it is aggregated, harmonized, and shared; (2) how the data is used across the globe for scientific analysis, journalism and communications, and advocacy for clean air action; and (3) how you can use and/or share data on the platform. We invite anyone who has used or uses the OpenAQ platform for research to submit an abstract.
