GRACE-FO and Beyond - Current Status and Future Missions and Methods
Session ID#: 160691
Session Description:
The Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) and its Follow-On mission (GRACE-FO) have accumulated a more than 20-year record of Earthâs time-variable gravity and surface mass change. This record has proven instrumental in establishing climate-related records (e.g., hydrologic and cryospheric) and studying solid earth processes. It is increasingly seeing use in user-focus applications such as groundwater monitoring. Continuing this record and advancing the state of the art in gravity measurements from space is a vital topic for scientific investigations. This session solicits abstracts focused on the current status of the GRACE-FO mission, recent advances in time-variable gravity estimation methods and processing schemes, and the infusion of new technology into future gravity missions and mass change measurements.
Session topics include: current mission status updates; data processing strategies for satellite gravimetry missions; technology advances and future concepts for measuring mass change; complimentary data types for validation and/or combinations.
