International research in a world under crisis

Session ID#: 161139

Session Description:
Scientific research is increasingly interdisciplinary and requires formation and fostering of international teams and collaborations. Major challenges related to climate change require deep international collaboration and governance. However, significant challenges have emerged to enabling highly functioning collaborations and to fostering them, including for early career researchers as well as for societies and universities.  The COVID pandemic has had a large impact, but there's also growing nationalism and currently a major war. This session will explore these challenges, their impacts, and possible solutions from key stakeholders.
