Global Needs for Carbon Neutralization by Combining Stable Nuclear Energy, Renewable Energy and H2/NH3 Production and Supply

Session ID#: 157661

Session Description:
In light of the global situation of the modern decarbonization and limited energy supplies, we discuss general international directions of energy generation with respect to energy consuming countries. Furthermore, consideration is given to balancing the need for maintaining export and import trade with policies that overcome the limitations of decarbonization and nuclear energy provision.

In order to realize these goals, the following topics need to be considered carefully:

  • Techniques that achieve sufficient energy transformation from the available renewable energy to avoid supply deficiencies;

  • Off-shore-wind power as a primary and steady energy generation resource;

  • Disaster prevention technology to prevent inundation based on tsunami prediction, evaluation of the safety of nuclear power generation plants.

  • H2and NH3gases as liquid fuels of renewable energy to achieve a stable power supply;

This session covers the following objectives:1) to realize reduced global warming by promoting the above-mentioned focus areas to minimize greenhouse gas emissions and establish a decarbonized society; and 2) to endeavor to reduce meteorological hazards, such as flood disasters, in risk-prone continents.

This session is based on environmental viewpoints that cover the fields of meteorology, ocean science, atomic energy, and chemistry to develop suitable technologies and appropriate energy policies for national energy security. This is one of the purposes of the Environment, Society, and Governance (ESG) to contribute toward the scientific and technological changes in the modern world.
