Advances in CO2 capture, transport, utilization and storage technologies
Advances in CO2 capture, transport, utilization and storage technologies
Session ID#: 162047
Session Description:
To meet U.S. president Biden’s goals of 50% emissions reduction by 2030, CO2 emissions-free power sector by 2035 and net zero emissions economy by 2050, CO2 capture, transport, utilization and storage (CTUS) technologies are likely to be widely deployed in coming decades to capture and storage of hundreds of millions or billions of tonnes of CO2 annually. The successful deployment of CTUS requires an integrated effort from geologists, surface and subsurface engineers, policy makers and economists, etc. The goal of this session is to identify the latest technology advances in all aspects of the CTUS value chain. All CTUS related topics are welcome in this session, including but not limited to,
- CTUS demonstration projects, and learning/lessons
- Field operation design related to CTUS
- Geological characterization, monitoring and economic aspects of CTUS
- Uncertainty quantification and optimization of CTUS
- Numerical modeling simulation related to CTUS
- Advances of AI/Deep learning technology in CTUS
