Artistic co-productions showcasing aquatic environmental research and citizens’ engagement with ocean and water are invited to be presented at the OSM2026. Submissions can showcase diverse aspects of oceanography, limnology, aquatic sciences and the transdisciplinary collaboration with marine social research, beyond transsectoral collaboration with non-academic participants. Session presenters should discuss the process of co-production, project deliverables, and how they assessed the success of collaboration and dissemination of their work. This session aims to explore how co-produced outreach projects can foster new collaborations, and promote alternative ways to increase public scientific literacy. Approaching the public with art, rather than through traditional scientific communication, allows people to form deep connections with science that leads to enhanced learning, understanding, and support. We encourage innovative approaches that effectively communicate complex scientific findings to a broad audience, fostering engagement and understanding of critical environmental issues. Formats of presentations could include short film, music, theater, interactive installations, data visualizations, augmented reality experiences, and other creative expressions that bridge the gap between scientific research and public awareness. We wonder how creative methods, especially those combining video-photographic research, complement and challenge scientific investigation, influence research contexts, and enrich participatory practices.
