Session Abstract

Escalating economic and geopolitical competitions between the United States and China have had ripple effects across the globe. Since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, domestic ramification of the US-China rivalry has become more apparent. As Chinese American scientists and researchers were targeted for investigations of economic espionage, violent attacks against Asian Americans surged and persisted nationwide. This roundtable brings together China and Asian American historians to discuss challenges of the time and share our experiences and thoughts.
