411 Biomaterials: Graduate Student Award Session

Description:
This session will honor graduate students whose research achievements, in the broad area of biomaterials, demonstrate a high level of excellence. Interested students should submit an abstract to the area 8b session of interest, and the same abstract to this session. Finalists will be selected to present their work a second time in the award session. At the end of the session, a panel of judges will determine 1st-3rd place. Graduate student award winners will receive monetary awards in the amount of $200, $150, and $100 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. To be considered for the award session, students must submit a copy of their abstract to this session by the abstract submission deadline through the online portal AND an application packet via e-mail to aiche8bgradaward@gmail.com. Note that submission to this session does NOT impact the selection/presentation of the abstract in the primary 8b session submitted to. Application packets must include the following components in PDF format: 1) Curriculum Vitae 2) copy of the abstract submitted online 3) One 1st-author, refereed research publication (published or in press). Do not submit Reviews, or research manuscripts that have been submitted or are in preparation. 4) One letter of recommendation e-mailed directly to the address by the applicant's PhD advisor. This session is supported with funding from the ACS Biomaterials Science and Engineering and Society for Biomaterials.
