Acknowledging Messiness and Failure

As a curator working with participatory art practices in a large-scale art museum set within a highly segregated urban center, I am wondering how we can build infrastructures that support and encourage the potential that comes out of messiness, and sometimes failure, in our work without compromising the maintenance and ethical care for our participants—from artists, to publics, to institutional colleagues?
