Alexandra Karl will sketch some peculiarities, triumphs, and challenges faced by artists and critics working in "the Mormon West." Karl has been writing independently about the visual arts in Utah since 2012 and has taken an interest in local practices as they pertain to working in the shadow of a large religious organization in the United States.
