Migrating Media: Filling new bottles with old wine

How can old media content, such as 16mm home movies, be activated by new media tools such as augmented reality and immersive cinema? What are the challenges and opportunities for positioning archival media in augmented and expanded contexts? In this presentation, I will discuss how slit scan technologies and AR have been used to re-present found footage films, expanding traditional cinematic forms into immersive environments.
