"At the Head of the Table”: Women Art Museum Directors in the 21st Century [Special Topics Forum]
Women now comprise 50% percent of the Association of American Art Museum Directors’ (AAMD) membership. The CAA Committee on Women in the Arts and Museum Committee wish to recognize this important milestone by bringing together several women directors working at both public and academic art institutions for a dynamic conversation about equity, access, and representation. Amidst historic and recent data-driven efforts to promote diversity within museums, to expand “seats at the table” for women and art professionals of color, this session will facilitate a unique and collaborative dialogue that will explore women directors’ efforts “at the head of the table.”
