Slowing Entropy: A Discussion about Better Methods to Handle, House, Display, Store, and Ship your Artwork(s)
It is an unfortunate fact that all objects age and will eventually show signs of deterioration. This is certainly true of artworks as well. There are ways to slow down this process. Environmental controls, storage conditions, and appropriate housing, handling, and shipping practices all have a major impact on the longevity of artworks. This session draws together a panel of experts to introduce better methods and practices for the preservation of artwork. Panelists were selected from the fields of museum conservation, private preservation specialists, academia, art materials manufacturers, and the art storage/art shipping sector. A substantial portion of the session will involve the panel answering questions from the audience about the preservation of their own work or art collection.
