The Art Historians of Southern California (AHSC) invite proposals for presentations that answer the question, "How has decolonizing art history worked for you?" We seek art professionals, practicing artists, students, scholars, museum educators, curators, and all others working in the field of the arts to share their recent experiences and efforts to decolonize art history. A very popular pursuit in today's world, the act of decolonizing art history can take a wide array of forms, some perhaps more successful than others. We seek to understand some of the myriad tactics, approaches, attitudes, and general ideas that those working in the arts have taken in recent years to tackle this pressing topic. What does decolonizing art history mean to you, and what shape has it taken in your personal and/or professional practice? What recommendations do you have for others interested in this effort, and what successes and drawbacks have you faced in recent efforts to decolonize art history for modern audiences today?
