The sequencing of various genomes has advanced rapidly in recent times. Therefore, vast quantities of genome sequence data have been produced. The first plant genome completely sequenced was that of Arabidopsis thaliana. Various sources provide plant genome sequences and annotations. Although the annotation information, such as gene region and structure, for plant species is being steadily enhanced, that of gene function appears insufficient. As proteins coded by the genome possess specific structures and functions, acquiring protein structure information can help in effectively understanding gene function. Therefore, we analyzed the predicted protein structure features of various species using whole amino acid sequences. With the data thus obtained, we predicted the genome of certain representative plants (Arabidopsis thaliana, soybean, poplar, rice, Brachypodium, Physcomitrella patens, and Cyanidioschyzon merolae) and a comparison resource (mouse and yeast) which genome sequencing was achieved. Here, we summarize our analyses and report on the observed tendency.
