Since the introduction of the first Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) platforms in 2004/2005 it has been KeyGene’s vision that molecular crop breeding would transition to sequence-based detection. During this decade, it has been our mission to develop and apply (proprietary) NGS applications to turn this vision of a Sequence-Based Revolution into reality.

I will present the current state of the art of KeyGene’s (proprietary) NGS products, including Sequence-based Genotyping (SBG), Keygene® SNPSelect, Whole Genome Profiling (WGPTM), Targeted Re-sequencing and de novo genome sequencing, illustrated with examples in the 6F (Food, Feed, Fiber, Fuel, Flowers and Fun) crops.

Keygene N.V. owns patents and patent applications protecting its SBG, KeyGene® SNPSelect, WGPTM and Targeted Resequencing technologies. KeyGene is a registered trademark of Keygene N.V.
