LGC: From Sampling to Marker Data – Genomics Tools and Technologies for Marker Assisted Selection from LGC

From field sampling to automated DNA extraction and fast and flexible KASP™ genotyping, LGC has been enabling Marker Assisted Selection (MAS) in plant and animal breeding programs for over a decade. In this workshop, we will discuss tools and technologies available for marker identification and validation (genotyping), a discussion on the importance of sampling and DNA extraction as key elements of success and provide some example case studies on how our customers are using LGC technology to deploy markers in their breeding programs. We will also provide a case study supported by “round table” discussion on the challenges and considerations in deciding whether to insource or outsource the genomics elements of a breeding program - an issue facing researchers across the globe.
