Genomic Characterization of the Livestock Resources in Asia

Although the origin, evolutionary history and phylogenetic relationships were resolved for animal genetic resources in the Asia, more genomic data are still needed to make informed decision making for conservation and breed improvement programs because some indigenous livestock breeds could not meet the demand of current markets as well as promote the recognition of the special characters of them. In order to strengthen the conservation of domestic livestock resources and continually improve the quality and performance of native animal production in this region, this workshop is designed to facilitate sharing data and making the links for future research and collaboration among scientists from different Asian countries.
