Sequencing and assembling complex genomes: a bioinformatics systems approach

This workshop covers advances in the sequencing and assembly of diverse complex genomes. Bioinformatics challenges for the following genomes will be outlined: Cattletick, Barley, Tilapia, Arundo donax. A systems approach to bioinformatics is introduced and demonstrated not just for whole genomes, but also for transcriptomes as well as for the diagnosis and surveillance of plant viral pathogens.
