High PCR Efficiency in Quantitative Real Time and Digital PCR using Fast ID DNA Extraction kit
Serial dilution experiments in Real Time PCR show the presence of PCR-inhibiting substances in DNA extracted from other commercial kits but not from the Fast ID kit. Furthermore, the most consistent Relative PCR Efficiency (RPE), a measure of suitability of purified DNA for qPCR, was observed with DNA purified using the Fast ID kit. Our data demonstrate that Fast ID kit-purified DNA is also suitable for Digital PCR applications.
The Fast ID kit does not require organic extraction or ethanol precipitation and is suitable for many downstream applications. In addition, the Fast ID DNA isolation procedure is simple, economical and rapid. For high throughput DNA extraction, the Fast ID kit is currently available in 96-well plate format and a magnetic silica format will be released in 2013.
One single DNA extraction kit can be used for a variety of sample matrices such as tissue, formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue, blood, clinical specimens, seeds, grains, plant materials, refined and fermented foodstuffs, feedstuffs, allergens, microbes, soil, and mummified tissue or herbarium samples.
