Host-Microbe Interactions

Plants and animals are immersed in large, diverse communities of microbes, some of which are pathogenic, some of which are benign, and some of which are beneficial. In general however, the mechanisms and the physiological and economic consequences of these interactions are poorly understood. This session will present recent advances in understanding interactions of microbes with plants and animals that have been enabled by genomic techniques.
